I used to work at an IH dealership and have done a number of 466 front covers, gaskets, etc. and can't think how you could mess one up so badly that all that would happen. Unless, like I say something got real messed up with that fuel pump. I wonder if the drive gear for it could have slipped and messed the timing all up.
